Since then the site has received many commendations and has begun to produce business direct. We had little idea how to go about it but Tom quickly assimilated what we needed and designed a simple but effective site which is easy to navigate. He created links to a language translator, PayPal and a printable brochure on the site which all work very well. We can edit all the information and whatever else needs doing, Tom is always quick to suggest solutions. As a result, we asked him to design the second site "Intensive Driving School" which is evolving all the time. JobOasis.co.uk is a jobs marketplace that allows homeowners and businesses to outsource any temporary job to local workers. The website was launched in 2009 and is comparable to eBay in it’s approach to users leaving feedback for one another based on performances as employees or employers. Jobs that have been advertised on the site so far include gardening, cleaning, office admin, labouring and bar work. No job is too small and there are workers waiting to undertake your job. Although currently only accepting jobs in Cardiff, Kent and Surrey, the site is due to expand to the whole of the UK in 2010.
The sites founder Nick Braithwaite - an affiliate of TN Design with whom we have discussed JobOasis.co.uk at length - said that setting up a jobs website during a recession has been tough yet the positive feedback he has received from users has spurred his development of the site on. The fact that the website is free allows for companies to cut down on the usual costs of using a recruitment agency and also allowing homeowners to cut costs through getting a better deal on cleaners, gardeners and decorators.
